Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Thiruvananthapuram is
an autonomous institution of the Department of Biotechnology, Government
RGCB invites applications from competent and qualified Indian citizens
for the position of Laboratory Helper. Complete details regarding the

Pass in Standard 10 or equivalent
Valid Driving License of two/four wheeler vehicles
Minimum 2 years of documented working experience in Government
Biomedical Research Institutions/ Laboratories in either of the
Collection, handling and storage of biological materials and
tissue samples, specifically collection of biological materials
(tissue, blood and other fluids) from collaborating medical
institutions and animal source centers, their appropriate
transportation in cold chain, assistance in the laboratories,
cleaning and upkeep of laboratories, monitoring proper disposal of
laboratory wastes, documented experience in driving of two/four
Operation and maintenance of Liquid Nitrogen Plant, supply to
individual laboratories and maintenance of appropriate supply
35 years, as on the last date prescribed for receipt of
applications at RGCB. Age relaxation as per RGCB/Central Government
Rules will be given, subject to valid documented proof.

entertained. The applications need to be superscribed as 'APPLICATION
FOR THE POSITION OF LABORATORY HELPER'.
- Advance copies of the scanned application, along with all
enclosures as one file can also be submitted through email to

prescribed last date for submission of application forms.
- The number of positions to be filled at the time of recruitment may
vary and can also be limited to actual requirement at that time. The
Director, RGCB reserves the right, not to fill all or any of the

as Annexure to this Notification for submitting their applications.
- Candidates shall also forward certified copies of all
qualifications that they possess and that of all their previous
experiences including certificate of required experience. Incomplete
applications or applications without copies of certificates of
qualifications/experience etc. will be summarily rejected. No original
document(s) in support of qualification(s)/experience(s) shall be
submitted to RGCB along with the filled in application forms.
- Candidates shall not furnish particulars that are false in nature
or suppress any material information while filling up the application
form. Candidates must also not furnish copies of the
certificate(s)/document(s) having any correction or alteration thereon
or do any tampering in any document.
- The applications received within the prescribed last date will be
screened for minimum required qualifications, age, experience, etc.
Candidates meeting with all minimum qualifications are required to appear
for a Written Examination, followed by Skill Test/Driving Test.
- No interim enquiries/correspondence/communication of any sort will
be entertained from the candidates.

Institutions may submit advance copy of their applications directly to
RGCB. However, they are required to submit a declaration, in writing,
to their current Head of Office/Department that they have applied for
the position of Laboratory Helper at RGCB. Candidates
will also have to ensure that their applications are forwarded to RGCB
through proper channel as well, to consider them in the selection
procedure. Candidates already in service must submit a certificate from
their current employer, agreeing to relieve them, in case finally
selected at the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology,
Thiruvananthapuram. However, no candidate will be allowed to appear for
the Written Examination if their applications are not received at RGCB,
through proper channel, at least ten days before the Written
Examination is conducted.
