Applications are invited from suitable candidates for two positions of Junior Research Fellows in two DBT funded research projects entitled Identification and functional characterization of Phytophthora capsici effectors specific to 'quick wilt' disease in black pepper (Piper nigrum) and Transcriptome analysis and characterization of key metabolic and hormone signalling pathway genes in Piper nigrum in response to defense elicitors under the supervision of Dr. S. Manjula at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
Essential Qualifications
First class MSc in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university.
Age
Below 28 years as on 30th November, 2018. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India.
Emoluments
25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or Post Graduates in Professional Degree course qualified candidates. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for Rs. 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.
Duration
3 years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 30th November, 2018. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed.
No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the written test/interview.
