Applications are invited from suitable candidates for two positions of Junior Research Fellow, one in a NASF (ICAR) funded research project entitled "Detection of peptide bio-markers and development of synthetic anti-bacterial peptide hydrogels for bovine mastitis" and one in a DST funded research project entitled "Development of a new and cost effective biosensor based ontransparent conducting oxide thin films working in near IR frequency" at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

Essential Qualifications

The candidate must have good academic record with first class Master's Degree in Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Agricultural Sciences.

Desirable Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those who have qualified NET/GATE exam.

Age

Below 28 years as on 6th February, 2019.

Fellowship:

25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or Post Graduates in Professional Degree courses. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month

Duration

  1. NASF (ICAR) funded project:1 year or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
  2. DST funded project: 2 years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a common written test will be conducted for both the positions before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed. No TA/ DA will be given for appearing in the interview.

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 6th February, 2019. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
