Current research area
- Calcium/calmodulin dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) is a neuronal enzyme with broad substrate specificity. In response to NMDA mediated calcium influx CaMKII gets activated and activated CaMKII translocates to the post synaptic density where it regulates other proteins. Current work focuses on investigating the interactions of CaMKII with the subunits of NMDA receptor and also other substrates and the physiological relevance of these interactions.
- Proteomic profiling of brahmi treated and untreated rat brain tissue and cell lines to study the role of brahmi in modulating the cognitive functions.
- Development of high throughput assay system for the screening of protein kinase inhibitors .
