  1. Separate call letters will be issued to the selected candidates. All the selected candidates must report to the Office of Academic Affairs at RGCB on or before April 09th, 2018.
  2. Originals and a copy each of the following certificates are to be produced at the time of joining at RGCB:
    • Provisional or final MSc/MTech degree certificate.
    • Final consolidated mark list(s).
    • Transfer and Conduct Certificate from last college studied.
    • Award letter from the fellowship-funding agency (or original hall ticket of the fellowship examination and a copy of the result published on the internet).
    • School leaving certificate or any other government approved certificate as proof for date of birth.
    • Caste certificate (if applicable), preferably in English or Hindi.
    • Candidates should bring 4 copies of their recent passport size photograph.
  3. Selected candidates without any independent fellowship will be provided with an institutional support of Rupees 20,000 per month and free on campus hostel accommodation (shared room). This support will be initially for a period of 24 months from the date of joining. These candidates are expected to obtain independent fellowship during this period.
  4. The PhD program will start with a 4 month mandatory course work (April 10th to July 10th). The course will have different modules comprising of lectures, demonstrations, hands on training, invited lectures, seminars & workshops, quiz programs, student retreats, site visits, debates and laboratory rotations. As part of the course work, students are also expected to attend all events organized by the institution such as invited talks, PhD open defense presentations, seminars and workshops. Classes will be handled by RGCB faculty, invited external faculty, post doctoral fellows and senior PhD students.
  5. The candidates have to pass the Course Work Examinations conducted at RGCB. A maximum of two attempts per course (Paper) is only permitted to pass the course work evaluation. The GPA / OGPA should not be below 5.5 and if this condition is not satisfied, the student should leave the Institute.
  6. After successful completion of the course work the students will be allowed to choose their mentor (on mutual consent) from a list provided and will then continue with PhD research program.
