Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled "Characterization of the role of Nucleophosmin and other selected host proteins identified from differential proteomics in Chikungunya virus infection" in the laboratory of Dr. E Sreekumar.
Master's Degree in any branch of Life Sciences with First class; willingness to work with human pathogens in a Bio-safety containment laboratory and with experimental animals.
A genuine interest in virology research and a committed intention to pursue doctoral study in the field.
Below 28 years as on 3rd March, 2017.
25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or Post Graduates in Professional Degree course qualified candidates. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month.
Two Years and five months or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.
Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format (Download here) with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 3rd March, 2017. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed.
Candidates should include a signed statement in their own handwriting in the declaration section of the application to the effect that they are willing to work with potentially infectious pathogens following the bio- safety guidelines of the institute and are willing to work with experimental animals.
Candidates selected in the interview have to appear for a technical skill proficiency test in the laboratory of the Principal Investigator for a period of five days. Only the candidate who successfully completes the skill proficiency test will be selected for the final appointment in the project. Rent-free, shared accommodation will be provided for the candidates appearing for the proficiency test.
No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the written test/interview/skill proficiency test.
