Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in an ICMR funded research project entitled "Does maternal hypercholesterolemia influence cholesterol transport mechanisms across the placenta during gestation?" in the laboratory of Dr. Surya Ramachandran at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Basic Sciences with 55% marks with valid JRF/ Score in national level examination conducted by the Central Government Departments/ Agencies such as CSIR-UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET)/ MHRD - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility test/ IACR- All India Competitive Examination (AICE)/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR - JRF Entrance Examination/ Lectureship in CSIR-UGC-.
AGE
Below 28 years as on September 25, 2019. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENTS
Rs. 31,000 + 16% HRA per month.
DURATION
Three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier. Initial appointment will be for one year and extension will be based on performance evaluation. Poor performance can lead to discontinuation of the appointment.
SELECTION PROCESS
Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of Marks obtained and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before September 25, 2019. Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project. Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply and will be called for interview. In the event of more than 10 candidates being short-listed by screening the applications, a written test will be conducted before the selection interview and only those who are successful in the written test will be interviewed.
No TA/DA/Other emoluments will be given for appearing in the written test/interview.
