Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the following positions in a DST funded project entitled "Scientific reinvention of ethnic food and medicine from Kerala for functional food and drug development" under Professor Chandrabhas Narayana at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

1. Project Associate - II (1 Position)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Food Processing, Functional food development, Scientific study on ethnic food, Chemical characterization of wild oils and related field work.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Good Academic records with a First Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacology or medicine or Food Technology.
- Two years documented experience in food processing, food technology/ Phytochemical analysis and functional food development (after Masters).
- The Candidate with a doctoral degree having relevant expertise in Food Processing and Functional food development will get preference in the selection procedure.
AGE
Below 32 years as on March 21, 2022. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENT
₹ 35,000/- + 18% HRA per month.
DURATION
Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.
2. Project Associate - I (1 Position)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Genomic DNA isolation, Genetic profiling, Phylogenetic analysis and nutritional analysis of traditional varieties of fruits and tubers.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Good Academic records with a First Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences or Biotechnology or Biochemistry.
- Candidate having relevant documented experience in plant Genetic Engineering and Phylogenetic analysis will get preference in the selection procedure.
AGE
Below 30 years as on March 21, 2022. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENT
₹ 31,000/- + 18% HRA per month.
DURATION
Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.
3. Project Assistant (1 Position)
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS- The candidate must have a Graduate degree with special skills on traditional wisdom and well versed with the tribal communities.
AGE
Below 30 years as on March 21, 2022. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.
EMOLUMENT₹ 18,000/- per month (consolidated).
DURATION
Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.
SELECTION PROCESS
Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of marks obtained and scanned copies of original certificates/credentials and experience to reach the undersigned only through Email on or before March 21, 2022. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate application forms should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
