Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Assistant in a DST funded research project entitled "Disarming bacterial pathogens using novel peptides that target pore-forming toxins: from in silico to in vivo" in the Laboratory of Dr. Karthik Subramanian at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. The focus of the laboratory is to study the molecular pathogenesis of pneumococcal infections and investigate the mechanisms underlying pneumococcal interaction with the host. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have good academic track records with first class Master's Degree in Immunology/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Life Sciences. Prior working experience with basic microbiology, molecular biology and mammalian cell culture techniques is essential.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence microscopy is desirable.

AGE

Below 28 years as on July 29, 2022. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

₹ 15,900/- consolidated per month. Increments subject to performance.

DURATION

Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation on yearly basis.

SELECTION PROCESS

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of marks obtained and scanned copies of original certificates/credentials and experience to reach the undersigned only through Email on or before July 29, 2022. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate application forms should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need apply. Applicants will be short listed for the ONLINE selection interview based on eligibility criteria. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
