Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior research fellow (JRF) in a SERB (DST)-SRG project entitled "Unravelling the role of Chlamydial deubiquitinase in evading the host innate immune system" in the laboratory of Dr. Karthika Rajeeve at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. The candidate must have consistent academic record with first class Master's Degree in any branch of life sciences preferably Microbiology and Cell Biology.
2. The Candidate should have qualified National Eligibility Test - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/ or National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions viz., DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR Entrance Exam/ Approved DST Inspire Fellowship etc.
3. The candidate should have good knowledge in handling of molecular biology tools and a minimum of 1 year laboratory experience.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

As the work includes immunology, infection biology and cell biology prior experience in this field is desirable.

AGE

Below 30 years as on February 21, 2022. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

₹ 31,000/- + applicable HRA per month.

DURATION

Initially for one year and extendable upto two years or till termination of the project whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.

SELECTION PROCESS

Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
