Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Assistant in the Ramalingaswami Fellowship project entitled "Elucidate the role of small RNA in Neurodegenerative diseases" in the laboratory of Dr. Rajeeve Sivadasan at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. The candidate must have consistent academic record with a first class Master's Degree in any branch of life sciences, preferably Neurobiology/Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology.
2. The candidate should have good knowledge of molecular biology, animal handling, cell culture and with a minimum five months of laboratory experience would be preferred.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

As the work includes cell culture, molecular biology, neurobiology, animal handling and cell biology, prior experience is desirable.

AGE

Below 28 years as of March 14, 2022. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

₹ 12,000/- + applicable HRA per month.

DURATION

Initially for a period of one year and extendable up to three years or till termination of the project, whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.

SELECTION PROCESS

Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a write-up in 100 to 150 (max) words why you applied for this position and what are your future plans, a photograph, a copy of full resume indicating the percentage of marks obtained and scanned copies of original certificates/credentials and experience to reach the undersigned only through Email on or before March 14, 2022. As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
