Applications are invited from suitable candidates (citizens of India) for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled "CD19 CAR T cells to Target Refractory or Relapsed B cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (r/r B-ALL)” in the Laboratory of Dr. Sunil Martin at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. The focus of the laboratory is to redirect the immune cells by engineering synthetic receptors to understand the basic mechanisms and to explore its translational potential in cancer immunotherapy. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. The candidate must have excellent academic records with 80% and above marks in M.Tech/M.Sc. in Biotechnology with bench experience in Genetic Engineering/ Immunology/Hematology/Cancer Biology/System Biology.
2. Candidates qualified with national level Junior Research Fellowship such as ICMR/DBT/CSIR/UGC will be preferred.
3. Prior biomedical research experience in academia or industry with molecular biology, immunology, hematology or cell and gene therapy with an aptitude towards pursuing a research career would be a plus.
4. An aptitude in designing, organizing and executing experiments in the bench with strong analytical skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Fine skills in molecular biology and immune cell culture.
2. Publications in national or international journals
3. Good interpersonal skills to work in collaborative teams
4. Commitment to complete the project

AGE

Below 28 years as on April 02, 2024. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

₹ 37,000/- with 16% HRA consolidated per month. Increments subject to performance.

DURATION

Initially for a period of one year and extendable till the termination of the project whichever is earlier based on performance evaluation.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Applications should be submitted online.
2. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
3. Last date for receiving completed applications is April 02, 2024
4. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
