Applications are invited from suitable candidates for two positions of Project Associate level II in an INSACOG Phase 2 at the Division of Laboratory Medicine and Molecular Diagnostics (LMMD) of Dr. Radhakrishnan R at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram. The positions are on diagnostic mode and selected candidates are not expected to do research leading to an award of a higher degree

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. The candidate must have a Post Graduate Degree in in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/ MVSc or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years' experience in research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organization and Scientific activities and services. (DST Guideline order No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10/07/2020).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience in virology including PCR-based detection of viruses, inclusive but not limited to SARS Corona virus II. Operational experience in NGS related to virology or equivalent.
2. Demonstrated exposure to computational biology in identification and mutational analysis of viruses and other genomes, as publication or training certificates from Government recognized.

AGE

35 years as on 10/03/2023. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms. Age relaxation will be given as per Govt. of India norms.

EMOLUMENT

(i) ₹ 35,000/- + HRA 16% per month for candidates who have qualified National Eligibility Test - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions viz., DBT-Biotechnology Eligibility Test/ Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology & Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JBEEBILS)/ ICMR Entrance Exam/ Approved DST Inspire Fellowship.
(ii). 28,000/- + 16% HRA for candidates who do not fall under (i) above.

DURATION

The positions are in open category and for a period of 1 year or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Applications should be submitted online.
2. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
3. Last date for receiving completed applications is before March 10, 2023
4. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.

Applications which are not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need to apply. Applicants will be short listed for the ONLINE selection interview based on eligibility criteria. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
