RGCB established a nursery and conservation plot for wild edibles with the participation of the Kani tribal community at Vlavila tribal settlement, Koottor, Kuttichal Grama Panchayat, Thiruvananthapuram under SHRI program, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Today (14th June 2023), the unit is inaugurated by Prof. Chandrabhas Narayana, Director, RGCB. Dr. George Thomas, Dean, Shri Sathi Chandran, Chief Finance Officer, RGCB, Shri Sreekumar, General Secretary, Kerala Vanavasi Vikasa Kendram, Shri Viliyan Kani, Headman of the Community delivered the Felicitations. The team also honoured the elder tribal members, who are experts in various traditional skills. The Conservation plot was established with the active participation of Kani Community SHG named 'Agasthya' under Kerala Vanavasi Vikas Kendra. The overall coordination of the session was done by Dr. Manoj P, Dr. Anish N. P., Dr. Archana S, and the DST-Tribal Heritage Project Team.
