activities of BIC Library at the new campus.
Many are the international dignitaries who
visited our library. The memories of the Nobel
Laureate James D Watson visiting our library and
presenting an autographed copy of his celebrated
book “The Double Helix” which is kept as a
valuable possession of our reference section is
so fresh still even today in my mind. I myself very
sincerely feel that if I had been placed in a different
environment in my career, perhaps I would not have
had this kind of an opportunity to see and keep
myself acquainted with colourful personalities
and thus deriving an enriching experience which
drastically remoulded my attitude, aptitude and
outlook in life, thus deriving immense happiness
from my daily interactions with people and total
involvement in my work, with absolute sense of
dedication, despite all the trials and tribulations I
Turning back I feel I can certainly be proud of
myself in endevouring in a meaningful way
for the benefit of an institution, growing in an
international recognition and its members of the
scientific community and by that way the society
in general. This is the rewarding experience from
which I derived happiness that sustained me all
these years. “Happiness is but an occasional

Thomas Hardy, the celebrated English novelist.
But I do not subscribe to this pessimistic notion
of Hardy. What appeals to my mental makeup is
the lines of Robert Frost, the great American poet
who wrote:
“The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Indeed life is a journey, only if you understand its
great significance. I have to continue my journey
through another face in my life. I will have to, by
bidding farewell to you all.
