Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one project position of Veterinary Medical Officer in the Animal Research Facility of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. A degree in Veterinary Science & Animal husbandry from any university recognized by Veterinary Council of India with documented experience in a CPCSEA registered Animal Research Facility of a Research/Academic Institution as Laboratory Animal Veterinarian with experience in small animal surgery.
2. Years of experience: Applicant with BVSc & AH: 5 years and for M.VSc : 2 years

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• A Master's Degree in Veterinary Surgery recognized by Veterinary Council of India.
• Valid IVC/SVC (Indian Veterinary Council/ State Veterinary Council) registration.
• Working experience in a semi-barrier animal facility with immune compromised and transgenic mice strains.
• Experience in various invasive and non-invasive research procedures on laboratory animals.
• Experience in legal regulations/requirements related to animals used in research.
• Experience in animal in vivo imaging techniques.

AGE

35 years (as on the last date of receipt of application)

EMOLUMENT

₹40,000/- plus 18% HRA per month (consolidated).

DURATION

Initially for a period of one year and extendable based on performance evaluation.

SELECTION PROCESS

1. Applications should be submitted online.
2. Candidates who are currently working in Government firms should send applications through proper channel.
3. Last date for receiving completed applications is April 20, 2023
4. If a candidate wishes to apply for different positions, separate applications should be submitted for each position. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.

Applications which are not in the prescribed format will summarily be rejected.

Only those fulfilling the above criteria need to apply. Applicants will be short listed for the ONLINE selection interview based on eligibility criteria. Selection of suitable candidates will be made based on qualifications and performance in the selection interview.
