Dr. Anish Kundu acquired expertise and worked in the area of plant metabolism and chemical ecology. The major focus of the laboratory is to investigate the defense and growth related metabolic alteration of plant systems (both model and crop plants) during interactions with the ecologically important biotic factors, such as endophytes, pathogens and insect herbivores. We use global as well as targeted metabolomics aided with transcriptomics, chemoinformatics and computational analysis of large data to find out key marker pathways, genes and functional metabolites involved in growth and defense of the plants during biotic interactions.
