Research Summary
Antibiotics have undoubtedly contributed to the development of the human and animal healthcare sectors. But nowadays, they are considered a significant pollutant because of their detrimental health consequences to aquatic and human life. Thus, proper monitoring is a prerequisite to regulating and managing the ill effect of antibiotics on humans and animals. Our lab addresses the issue using meta-analysis of multi-omics data for screening biomarkers for antibiotic pollutants and validating them in laboratory and field setup. The ultimate goal of our research is towards the development of biosensors for monitoring antibiotic pollutants in marine organisms and aquaculture food products.
