The Rice Museum, established by BRIC-RGCB under the SHRI program, DST, Govt. of India, was inaugurated on September 11, 2025, at Sultan Bathery, Wayanad. The museum showcases a vast collection of traditional rice varieties and paddy artworks, promoting awareness about their importance in sustainable agriculture. Prof. Chandrabhas Narayana, Director, BRIC-RGCB, inaugurated the museum, highlighting the significance of traditional rice varieties. Dr. Mathew Dan, Senior Principal Scientist (RTD.), JNTBGRI, delivered an awareness class, while Ms. Aranya from the Agriculture Department, Government of Kerala, offered felicitations. A cultural program by Guinness Ramesh added to the event's vibrancy. The Rice Museum features over 350 traditional rice varieties, paddy artworks by Shri Praseedkumar Thyyil, and exhibits on sustainable agriculture. The museum aims to promote research, education, and innovation in traditional rice varieties, becoming a hub for those interested in sustainable agriculture practices. Traditional paddy farmers and students from GHSS, Meppadi attended the inauguration ceremony, showing keen interest in the museum's exhibits. The event was coordinated by Er. K Rajasekharan, DGM; Dr. Anish NP, Deputy Registrar; and the team from BRIC-RGCB.
