Christeen completed post-graduation in zoology with specialization in entomology. He is experienced in field-oriented research activities related to malaria, especially vector biology. Christeen is motivated to work on human malaria parasites for his doctoral thesis because of its unique multi-stage lifecycle and complex molecular makeup, understanding of which will provide new avenues for therapeutic targeting.

Akhila completed her Bachelors and Masters in Zoology from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. She joined the Red Cell Diseases lab in July 2022. Akhila's PhD research will involve the identification of novel antimicrobials from chemical libraries coupled to omics-based mode of action studies to discover new therapeutic targets against infectious diseases.
