BRIC-RGCB celebrated World Environment Day 2024 with the focal theme of Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience. The event was inaugurated by the Director of RGCB, Prof. Chandrabhas Narayana. Prof. Shaji E., Professor at the Department of Geology and Director of IQAC at the University of Kerala, delivered the Keynote Address. Dr. Akhilesh S. V. Nair, the innovator of India's first digital garden, launched RGCB's initiative for the digitization of RGCB campus flora using QR Codes. A book titled "The Taste of the Wild - An Inventory on Ethnic Food and Wild Edibles" was published by the RGCB Director and honored Smt. Chandrika, an Ethnic Food Specialist and Traditional Healer, and Mr. Praseed Kumar Bathery, a National Genome Saviour Award Winner. Exhibitions showcasing Eco-friendly products, Traditional crafts and products, and Rice varieties were also held during the event. These exhibitions were coordinated by the Tribal Heritage Project Team. The overall program was coordinated by Dr. Asha S Nair and the Bodhi Science Club.
